19.01.24
The World Vodka Awards has announced the country winners in its 2024 competition.
The competition, which judges the very best products in the world of vodka, received entries from more than 20 countries this year in four categories: Pure Neutral, Varietal, Botanical, and Flavoured.
Alongside more traditional producing countries such as Poland, Sweden, and Canada, the competition saw entries from a global array of nations including Mexico, Thailand, Brazil, and China.
The country winners were unveiled on 19 January, following the announcement of the
World Gin Awards 2024 country winners on 18 January.
The
World Vodka Awards country winners will now go on to compete against each other for the title of World’s Best in each category. The results of this final leg of the competition will be announced on the World Drinks Awards website and social media channels on 20 February.
Veronika Karlova, chair of judges for the World Vodka Awards, said: “Today’s approach to vodka production has taken a new turn. Forget the traditional perception of vodka as tasteless and boring – it’s anything but plain and flavourless. Producers really pay attention to ingredients and focus on how to retain the character of raw material in vodka.
“All World Vodka Awards country winners this year impressed judges with their quality and taste. Year on year we see an increase in World Vodka Awards entries for varietal, botanical, and flavoured categories, which confirms that the future of vodka is leaning towards styles with a lot of character and flavour.”
