Tastings for the World Drinks Awards will take place until 16 April 2025
With tastings for the World Drinks 2025 underway, our expert judging panel has begun the meticulous tasting process for all entries submitted for this year’s competition. Tastings for the competition will continue from March to April before the final tasting round and winner announcement on 16 April 2025.
The World Drinks Awards judging panel is comprised of distillers, educators, writers, and drinks industry professionals. Each judge brings their own unique perspective, offering entrants a wide range of feedback and helping brands better understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
Leading this year’s tastings is head judge David T. Smith. David is an independent spirits consultant with over a decade in industry experience. He has consulted on drinks projects across six continents and has written about spirits for physical and digital publications.
David commented on the awards tasting experience: “It’s an exciting and dynamic place and we want to make sure that we have the people and the judges in to reflect that, so that everything will be judges as fairly as possible.”
Anita Ujszaszi, director of the World Drinks Awards commented: “Last year’s competition was a great turn out and it looks like this year is on track to be even better! As ever, it’s a very exciting thing to be a part of. With entries for the awards increasing each year, make sure you don’t miss out!
